Youth Leader: Bethel Youth Leaders engage with groups of students in their “tribe” (small groups consisting of either Junior High Boys, Junior High Girls, Senior High Boys, or Senior High Girls). Through Catalyst (Bible study) or Outlet (games, activities, and outings), our Youth Leaders are able to build Christ-like community and disciple students. The role of the Youth Leader is to journey with students as they grow in Christ. Total time investment: 4 hours per week on Friday nights. Youth Leaders are also required to attend the one night youth leaders planning retreat in early Fall, encouraged to attend the two youth retreats (in November and May) and meet with students outside of weekly programming (i.e. go for coffee, watch sports games, etc.). PLOT Volunteer: PLOT is Bethel Youth’s summer drop-in program that runs on Tuesday nights during July and August. This program focuses on building Christ-like community through a casual atmosphere. Volunteers interact with teens through games and activities through this program hosted in the Bethel parking lot. Total time investment: Tuesday nights in July and August from 6:30-10 pm.
Inter-generational and Special Events Volunteer: Bethel Youth hosts fundraisers, retreats, intergenerational events, and Friday night programs. Volunteers for events would drive students during the Mystery Retreat or assist with preparing food or decorations for larger events, such as during basketball or soccer camp, the year-end gala, or fundraisers. Total time investment: one weekend a year (Mystery Retreat) or 8 hours a year.
