Bannerman in Action: A day for doing’ good in the ‘hood will take place on Saturday, May 29, between 9am and 12 noon.  Each year Bethel Church joins the Community League, other neighbourhood organizations and the residents of Bannerman themselves to promote neighbouring and do community projects.  This year’s event will feature:

• Neighbours helping neighbours with outdoor jobs
• Neighbourhood clean up
• A diaper drive to support the budget-stretched
• Promotion of the community theme:  “Bannerman a Community that Cares”
• Connection with one another around free ice cream

Residents will receive a poster that they will be invited to display in their windows.  The poster displays six values that show how each Bannerman resident (and Bethel Church as a good neighbour) can live out what it means to be a “Community that Cares.”  Neighbours will be asked to take a picture of themselves with their poster displayed in their front window.  They can submit their pictures in a draw for a chance to win a prize.
Bethel’s support of this day expresses one of our churches core values.  We don’t just drive in to Bannerman to attend church.   We are a caring neighbour who wants to see our community thrive!
