

Summer Ministry Intern
Do you have a passion for reaching and working with children and youth in our community? Bethel is hiring two ministry interns to help plan and run our summer community events and programs for children and youth. These positions are 35 hours a week for a minimum of 8 consecutive weeks between June and August.

Working alongside the ministry staff team, the Summer Ministry Intern will plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of summer programs for children and youth ages 3-18, as well as plan and execute family focused community events throughout the summer.

Key Responsibilities:
Programming and running a week-long Kids Camp in August
Leading and facilitating a weekly youth drop-in ministry on Tuesdays
Assist in planning and facilitating our annual Canada Day community celebration
Coordinate with other community organizations in planning events and increasing community engagement in our area.
Planning and implementing activities, curriculum, and devotions for camps, drop-in programs, and other events
Creating and maintaining registrations for various summer events
Assist with creating and distributing advertising for programs and events
Recruiting and leading teams of volunteers for day camps, drop-in programs, the Canada Day event, and other community gatherings.
Managing a financial budget to implement programs and events with support of other staff
Spiritually nurturing children and youth by modelling a Christ-directed life.

Qualifications:
A heart for God and a passion for reaching children and youth within our community.
Leadership skills, including the ability to work with a diverse field of volunteers
Experience working with children and youth
Current education in social services, education, or religious studies is preferred.
Must be willing to make Bethel their home church during the term of employment
Must have most weekdays and some evenings/weekends available.
A Driver's license and access to a vehicle is preferred
Must provide a current Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search
As this position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, candidates must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred and be between the ages of 18 and 30.

Time Commitment:
35 hours per week for a minimum of 8 consecutive weeks this summer
Start and end dates will be finalized at time of interviews/hiring.
