Bethel Kids Get involved with Bethel Kids! We need lots of adults to share God’s word and show his love to these amazing children of the King. Whether you are a storyteller, activity leader, baby cuddler, security monitor, check-in desk manager, or an extra set of hands to assist a leader, we would love to have you. Bethel Kids Team Sign Up Wiggle Room Our Wiggle room is open to parents with small children who need to get "their wiggles out" while being close to their parents and the service can be watched from that room. Our Wiggle room is located on the left side of the sanctuary next to our kitchen. In Person Worship On Sunday mornings, please check in the back with you kids. We invite families to sit together in worship for the first half of the service, which starts at 10 AM. Halfway through the service we'll invite parents to bring your kids downstairs for a focused time of children's ministry in a big group. Nursery Our nursery is available for your infants and toddlers! When you arrive at church check your kids in at the registration desk, and then bring your children to the nursery for care from our volunteers. GEMS Girls' Club Welcome to GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior). We hope to have a wonderful year together building skills, experiencing God’s love and growing in faith. Come join us for fellowship, Bible study, badge work, crafts and more. GEMS is starting September 22, 2026, and runs alternating Tuesdays, from 7:00-8:30pm. Open to girls in grades 2-9 Register Here Cadets Cadets is a group for boys in grade 2-6. Cadets meets every second Tuesday from 7:00- 8:30pm from October – May. < Back Administrator Tara Kilkenny Tara is the Administrator at Bethel Community Church. She has been part of Bethel for many years and has served in a wide range of leadership roles. Tara also works part-time as an occupational therapist. She is married to Clint, and they have 2 fantastic children! They share their home with 3 dogs, 1 cat, a bird, and some chickens. < Back Pastor of Congregational Care and Discipleship Wendy Werkman Wendy has been a member of Bethel since 2003. She brought her diversified work experience to Bethel and became the Administrator in August 2011. Wendy went to seminary and received an MDiv from Taylor Seminary, as well as completing the Ecclesiastical Program for Ministerial Candidates (EPMC) from Calvin Theological Seminary. In August 2022 , Wendy was installed as the Pastor of Congregational Care and Discipleship. Her passion is to see people become connected within the church family and grow deeper in their faith walk. I’m from Brazil, happily married to Ed, and the proud mom of a sweet 7-year-old girl named Alice. < Back Lead Pastor Cris Harper Pastor Cris joined Bethel Community Church in February of 2020. He is married to Christy and has two young children, Ruth and Gabe. Cris enjoys cooking, keeping up with basketball and soccer through the year, and will talk all things Star Wars with whoever cares to listen. Cris holds an M.Div. degree from Beeson Divinity School (Birmingham, AL). Prior to coming to Bethel, he worked as a Hospital Chaplain at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, offering pastoral support to intensive care units and the Emergency Department.
