  • 40 Days of Belonging | Bethel Community CRC

40 Days of Belonging This Spring we want to ask an important question as a church: What does it mean to belong to Bethel? We will be reflecting on our key values which shapes who God has called us to become as a church family and a “house of the Lord” (which is what Bethel means). If this is the kind of house we’re supposed to be, we want to re-affirm what this means for every person at Bethel. We want this conversation in our church to flow through everything we do. Every week we will send out resources and discussion guides for each value. Every Sunday we will focus on another value that draws us together as a family through our sermon series, House of Belonging. We’d love for you to journey with us as we say together as members of one body: You belong here. How Do I Get Involved? • This Week At Bethel | Bethel Community Church

This Week At Bethel April 21, 2024 This Sunday Church Family News Announcements Community News Calendar Bulletin Archive This Sunday This week we continue our journey through 40 Days of Belonging . Each week we are exploring a key value that shapes who we are becoming as a church family: a “House of the Lord” – which is what Bethel means – and a “House of Belonging.” Our goal is to re-affirm what this means for every person at Bethel and allow unity for what we care about most to guide our lives together in Christ. On Sunday, we will look at God’s call for us as a Family of All Nations. We are all part of the story of God bringing people from every tribe and tongue into his family. Anticipating what would be possible through Jesus, Isaiah prophesied that the Lord’s people would be called a “house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7). Not only do we celebrate this reality, but we commit to Gospel life together welcoming and restoring our distinct heritages and ethnicities within one kingdom culture, the way of Jesus. The message this Sunday will focus on Isaiah 56:1-8, “A Family of All Nations." We are excited to celebrate the baptism of VANCE SNEEP , son of Gregory and Amber Sneep, on Sunday. The water in baptism is a sign and seal of God’s covenant love for Vance, which testifies to the truth “we love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Join us in praising God for how the Good News has already blessed this family and commit with us to loving and supporting them in their faith. Our Sunday Offerings: BETHEL MINISTRIES AND MISSION: The ministries and programs of Bethel INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE MISSION CANADA: This agency is at work in 18 communities around the world putting an end to slavery and violence. NEXT WEEK - DYNAMIC YOUTH MINISTRIES -GEMS : provides programs, curriculum, materials, and training designed to bring children and youth into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. This collection will specifically support the Cadets ministries. Please visit discoverbethel.com/give to see the ways that you can donate and support our different collections. If you have any questions about our giving options, please contact Sara at accounting@discoverbethel.com Church Family News & Prayer Requests: MELANIE and NATE WRIGHT are absolutely thrilled and feeling incredibly blessed to welcome James Aaron Arturo Wright to their family. He was discharged this week and is now recovering at home. Please pray for his continued recovery and healing. Please continue to remember CURTIS COENEN, DRIKA DUTHLER, MIKE JACKSON, JENNY PENFOLD, DON PROKUDA, ELEAnor prokuda, JANE SHULTZ, CELINE SIGVALDASON, JILL SNEEP and EVERT VROON as you pray for our church community. JOAN ANDREWS is looking for assistance with rototilling her garden. She has the rototiller and is willing to compensate you for your time.
