    < Back Pastor of Congregational Care and Discipleship Wendy Werkman Wendy has been a member of Bethel since 2003. She has a diversified work experience and brings that experience to Bethel Community Church in the Administrator position since August 2011. Wendy went back to school to pursue an MDiv from Kairos University and completed the Ecclesiastical Program for Ministerial Candidates (EPMC) from Calvin Seminary. In August 2022 Wendy was installed as the Pastor of Congregational Care and Discipleship. Her passion is to see people become connected within the church family and she is probably one of the first people you’ll be welcomed by!     < Back Lead Pastor Cris Harper Pastor Cris joined Bethel Community Church in February of 2020. He is married to Christy and has two young children, Ruth and Gabe. Cris enjoys cooking, keeping up with basketball and soccer through the year, and will talk all things Star Wars with whoever cares to listen. Cris holds an M.Div. degree from Beeson Divinity School (Birmingham, AL). Prior to coming to Bethel, he worked as a Hospital Chaplain at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, offering pastoral support to intensive care units and the Emergency Department.     Bethel Kids BETHEL KIDS AND YOUTH PRAYER CARDS: We are working on creating this year’s prayer cards for all children and youth at Bethel. Our hope is that every child and teen (ages 0-17) would have a member of the congregation intentionally praying for them. If you consider Bethel to be your home church and would like your teen(s)/child(ren) to be included, please fill out the form here to send us an updated photo of your child. We hope to distribute prayer cards to the congregation in late May. Email selikke@discoverbethel.com if you have any questions. Wiggle Room Our Wiggle room is open to parents with small children who need to get "their wiggles out" while being close to their parents and the service can be watched from that room. Our Wiggle room is located on the left side of the sanctuary next to our kitchen. In Person Worship On Sunday mornings, please check in the back with you kids. We invite families to sit together in worship for the first half of the service, which starts at 10 AM. Halfway through the service we'll invite parents to bring your kids downstairs for a focused time of children's ministry in a big group. Nursery Our nursery is available for your infants and toddlers!     What to Expect Sunday Worship Our church is for everyone and we invite you to join us. We gather in person and online to encounter the living God as a community – a time to restore our faith, to renew our hope, and to rekindle our love for God and others. Join us in worship for the whole family, and please come as you are! Every week expect to hear a Gospel-centered message, considering how we can deepen our relationship with Christ and better live out his love in our daily lives.
